I recently wrote to Danone Canada inquiring about a particular brand of their yogurt, which contains gelatin. Following is the response that I recieved via email:

 

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

 

Gelatin is water soluble substance isolated by the action of prolonged heat on animal tissues, which are rich in collagen like bones. Gelatin is a protein used as a gelling agent in food preparations.

 

Danone uses bovine gelatin in his products.
